To enter into the show, your entry should look like this:
An example entry is pictured below.
In order to enter your horse into the show, you'll first have to decide which medieval horse type fits it best, is it a Destrier, Courser, Rouncey, or Palfrey? It doesn't have to be realistic so if you want your TB to be a Destrier, feel free! The only reason the type matters is because that determines which of your horse's skills should be the best. However, for ease of decision-making, we suggest the following:
Destrier: Cold-blooded horses, Drafts, Draughts, Friesians, PSLs and PREs
Courser: Iberians, Friesians, Warmbloods, Quarter Horses
Rouncey: Thoroughbreds, Arabians, Warmbloods
Palfrey: Saddlebreds, Icelandics, Arabians, ponies...This category is basically anything that doesn't really fit into any of the others, and will work for just about any horse!
Next, you'll need to round up some poses from your horse! Each "skill" has multiple poses that can represent it, for a variety of posing options to make it easier for you to get acceptable poses! All of the poses accepted in the show are found in either the gaiting pose guide or the show jumping guide, except the passage but there are examples of that later.
To represent agility, acceptable poses are a piaffe, passage, or extended trot. To represent speed, any gallop or canter pose is accepted, however keep in mind that some poses are hard to get aligned ears or nice looking eyes, yet they will be judged with the same criteria as easier poses like the canter. And to represent strength or stamina, accepted poses include any of the jump poses from the show jumping guide, a lope, or a halt with tack. Please note that a halt without tack is not accepted! Sleepy, surprised, and worried expressions will be faulted, however, angry expressions are allowed! The judging criteria and examples for these poses may be seen in a separate post below.
