So I was thinking the other day about champing horses and I thought it might be nice to have some shows for younger horses. My idea is to run some shows for horses between 50 and 80 on the brainsliders.
Each entry would require two pictures. The first would be a halt or any gait (excluding piaffe or gallop). This would represent how easy the yearling is to handle and how their training is going. The second picture would be any picture you feel shows the yearling being a horse. This could be the yearling playing with a toy, playing with another horse, galloping, rolling, pretty much anything horse like you can think of. Basically the only rules would be make sure the yearling isn't spooked, sleepy or angry and don't use a completely unrealistic picture like your horse sitting down.
When it comes to judging it would mostly be random. The total score would be out of 50 points with 10 points based on the pictures. There would be 5 pts for the first pose (heavily weighted for the horse looking calm and relaxed but partially for levelness, straightness etc) and 5pts for the second pose (the horse has nice eyes and the picture isn't completely unrealistic for a horse).
Rather than the yearlings taking as long as they need to gain a title they would only have 10 shows to do so. This would be to represent the fact a horse is only young for so long. There would be a few different titles so say 0-149 would be no title, 150-349 would be one title and 350 to 500 would be a more prestigious title. If there's interest I'll run some numbers and probably set the cutoffs so around 25% of horses won't get a title, 50% will get the first title and the other 25% will get the second title.
What do you guys think?
