Race Replay
Last week we saw Fleet Street bounce back to strike from the pack to storm to a new stakes record in the English Channel and it'll be 13 mares and stallions to contest our third prep for the Breeders' Cup turf. The sun is shining on a pristine grass course as our horses take to the turf, led by Hard Tack's stalwart Urban Magic, a Breeders' Cup veteran and top turf mare and accompanied by Eclipse-winning filly Southern Dancer, back to improve on her past two thirds. BlueJay comes in with Thunder Cat, who set a record last week in the English Channel and returns to the BC this year, with Mezzanotte, another Hard Tack acquisition, making his BC debut. Rhapsody comes back with Derby runner-up Chaos and graded stakes winner Serenity, while FiL returns once more with Desperado, who reckons to press the pace with Serenity and Dancer. Reed Stables returns with another BC winning mare Angie, who took the F&M Turf last year and tries her hands at males this year; stablemate Speed Demon, yet another speed horse, returns to try again after a fourth place finish last time out. Turn & Burns comes back with Leon, fresh off an allowance win, while Nightshade returns with Ariel, Orlais and Wench, with Orlais the only graded stakes winner of the bunch, fresh off her first score. It's a big field for a long race and it'll be these 13 mares and stallions to strut the course here as they load into the gate for this year's Dahlia's Stakes for another try for the Breeders' Cup!
