As far as I know, I'm not getting any more horses anytime soon, so I can finally do this show off haha. In no particular order, here are all my new guys and gals! <3
Beau, FiL Quixotic at Rhapsody, a super-handsome chestnut Holsteiner from Mak! This guy is such a sweetheart and he poses very well and easily.
Lark, BlueJay On Wings of Song, is a filly sent over by Angora from BlueJay. I'm keeping the bird name theme going with her because my last BlueJay filly, Wren, is amazing and my own Songbird is also pretty great haha. Racing is full of superstition it seems. I know MOST larks aren't black and white but I'm from Colorado, where our state bird is the Lark Bunting, which IS black and white, so there's my logic on that lol. This girls is so flashy and pretty. Whether she's good at racing or not I bet she'll be a popular broodmare just for her color alone. <3
Regal, BA's Call to Arms at Rhapsody, is a young filly sired by Warpaint out of Royal Angel sent over by Jez at Burning Acres! She's very pretty and she adores her sire, they are like two peas in a pod so I'm hoping she takes to the track like him.
Intent, BA's Is It Luck? at Rhapsody, is a young colt sired by Motive out of Cloverfield also sent from Burning Acres. Apparently Cloverfield DID NOT like him much haha BUT Motive has a ball playing with him and showing him the ropes, so he barely misses his mom now.
War Hero, Hard Tack In the Wake of War, is a colt sired by Warlord out of Boudacious. This guy is handsome, and he knows it. I am spoiled so bad with awesome Hard Tack pedigrees. I got two colts not too long ago from Neco, and they are both doing awesome, so I'm hoping they pave the way for this guy. He's also got Hawkstone's Vermillion in his pedigree and she is a stunning mare so I really have high hopes for this guy on the track.
Edit: Apparently he just won his first race, so he's definitely on the right track haha.
Cynic, Hard Tack Expect the Worst at Rhapsody, might have the longest showname ever haha. She's a very pretty filly born here at Rhapsody, sired by Skeptic out of Cyclone Princess. Apparently I suck at naming Skeptic's foals so I did the whole combine the parent's names thing again, but this one actually makes a lot more sense than Scandal's. She acts a lot like Skeptic, really feisty and fiery, so hopefully she's also able to turn that off and focus on the track. I also love her show name because, with her parents, ANYONE would have high expectations for her lol.
Nonios, Moonmist Quick as Light at Rhapsody, is a gorgeous Westfalen stallion from Daveena. His name is the name of one of Hades' four horses who was 'black as night and quick as light' supposedly. I have a light/shine/bright theme going with the names of my Westfalens and it definitely favors feminine names more haha. But I thought the name was fitting for this guy because his coat is so dark and lustrous even if he's got some seal brown in there. His textures are gorgeous! He's also a dream to pose, but as Daveena mentioned, when he's done, he's done lol. I'm really excited to have another 1st gen stallion to show and later breed to my talented mares.
