Okay...many gruelling hours later and I have my first hexpaint job on a manda v2. And its been around 4 years since I last did any hexing period. Are v2s easier to paint in theory? I remember v1s being easier but maybe that's nostalgia lenses XD. Anyway - he's far from perfect and a few things could probably do with refining but his personality grew on me too much so he's staying as he is.
Meet Wren
He's an idiot.
No, really.
He only likes to pose facing the wrong way. He scares himself with no help from me. He can't run two strides without ramming his head into the floor. He gets annoyed at tennis balls for no reason and has dislocated his skull three times in twenty minutes. He's not much better as a baby.
But despite (or probably because) he's such a self-hazardous, no-idea-how-to-horse goofball...I might keep him a bit. (shaded up there using my greyscale method, btw)
He's a flaxen chestnut but I'vetried to gradient his legs. I quite like the way they fade up, even without blending but its still not the best job. (This is also the point that I realise just how many flaxen chestnuts I own. Apparently I have a happy zone .
Issue areas: Mainly his face markings, I think. It looked okay on the dummy, but parts of his nostrils/nose seem to block the white as he moves about and the shades of grey and black aren't as well blended as I thought I'd got them. The pink fleshmark seems okay, though. Could probably have done with just one extra chestnut ball at the top of his tail, instead of flaxen.
Many thanks to Jewellz for her help in locating other problem areas. Without her Wren would have many more issues ^^
Please do critique away! He's really nothing special but anywhere you think I can learn, I'm listening
(I don't know what the rule is with show offs anymore - I'd love to reintroduce my whole herd but as they're not new, is that a thing?)
