I wonder why people who think they know you or have watched you grow up think they have the right to tell you what to do. Maybe they feel they know you like no one else does, Maybe they feel they are being helpful, and maybe something else I don't know. What hurts is that when you take the first faltering steps to be on your own and to understand who you are many of those who have told you what to do in the past abandon you as being rebellious or something else. Why is that? Why aren't they happy or proud that you're trying to stand on your own?
