Race Replay
Two weeks ago, it was a battle of the sisters as Djinn and Elysium warred to the finish line in the Davona Dale, with younger Djinn besting her older sister by a narrow 3/4s of a length. With these two duking it out for both the Lillies and the Roses this year, we can expect to see more battles between the two and their competition as we continue on our next stop to the Road to the Kentucky Oaks!
Hard Tack's Elyisum is back on top as the heavy favorite today after romping in the San Felipe and the seal daughter of Ruffian is showing no signs of slowing down. Stablemate Noble Hierarch is finding herself lower on the totem pole this week after out of the money finishes, but could be back on the upswing after scoring a healthy second in an allowance race. Rhapsody's Illicit will look to take second favoritism winning a recent allowance race, showing good form in both. Lark isn't far behind but will need to get her best stride out of the gate to continue that uphill climb after a distance second in the San Felipe. Djinn is double digits despite her win in the Davona Dale and after a poor showing in her last race, while Riverside Racing continues their quest for glory with Vickie, Starshot and Rhapsody looking to run with the big girls here today on the main track.
Spring is finally in the air on the east coast as the temperature climbs into the upper 50s and the fillies are feeling frisky as they take to the main dirt course. Eight will contest this week's points extravaganza for the Oaks, but only one filly can come out on top. It's time for this year's Las Virgenes Stakes!
The Road to the Oaks continues NOW on Seeing Stars!
